Smart Goal Setting

The power of setting goals is in your hands.  Better said in your heart, better said in your imagination. You can follow all the rules written about SMART Goal Setting or you can follow the advice of one of the brightest thinking person to walk our planet.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” – Albert Einstein

If you can imagine it, you can create it.  This is a fact that can be provide repeatedly.  I would like to suggest that you do the following and see if you can disprove this.

Spend 5 minutes each day seeing, feeling, hearing and even tasting you goals.  Imagine what a day would be like two to three days after you have achieved your goals. If you can do this every morning, you will have no choice but to see your goal happen.

Have you ever had the experience where a small, tiny voice is talking to you?  A voice that is hard to hear and understand.  It is a voice that you want to question when you finally hear and understand it.  Could it actually be telling you what you want to know?
Sam is a struggling with the Law of Attraction.  He is one of millions that are struggling with the Law of Attraction.  Sam continues to struggle with his personal and financial success.  He never seems to have enough money to live a comfortable life style.  Sitting one day with the Television off, no radio, and no children around, Sam heard the little voice.  Sam could not understand what was being said, it even sounded like a foreign language.
For a moment, Sam’s concentration was broken as he began to struggle with what he heard.  Being too tired to continue the struggle Sam slowly moved back into his state of meditation.  ‘Vacuum’ was all that Sam heard.  Vacuum, in a pure, gentle, loving tone of voice, being slowly repeated.    Vacuum, what does this mean?  “Granted my little one bedroom apartment is a mess, the kitchen is a mess.  I guess it can use a good cleaning, but what does this have to do with my struggles?  Vacuum.” “I am practically broke.  When I am able to keep up on my bills, I have no money for life.  When I do not pay my bills, I become very unhappy and uncomfortable.  What is going on why the word ‘Vacuum’ continues to show up?”  Sam was now struggling with the meaning and slipped entirely out of his meditation.  “This is annoying, why am I struggling so?  What must I do to have a breakthrough?”
Giving up for the night, Sam went to bed.  As he started to drift off to sleep Sam, ask the question again.  “What must I do to have a breakthrough?”
Sam slept remarkably well through the night, but nothing further concerning his question came to him.  What must I do to have a breakthrough?  Being dead tired and still trying to understand what “Vacuum” meant Sam began his preparations for his day.  Stepping into the shower, Sam found himself needing to sit down and just let the water to flow over him.  The water falling on his shoulders allowed Sam to become so relaxed that he soon was in a wonderful meditative state of mind.  The soft little voice said, “Vacuum” once again.
“I do not know why I just listen to the voice this time without trying to find an answer to what it all meant, I just sat there.”
The voice now clearly said, “Create a Vacuum in your world”.  “Look around give away everything that you are not using, create a Vacuum”.
I cannot afford to buy anything new right now, or replace any of it.”
“Create a Vacuum in your world.  Nature abhors a vacuum and will fill it with the Divine.  Create a vacuum.”  The voice almost commanded this time.

“I have too much junk in boxes that I do not want to throw it away, I am afraid.  After all I may need it, sometime in the future.”  Sam knew that this was a bunch of non-sense, so he made plans to box up all of us junk on Saturday and throw it in the trash.

On Saturday, Sam started to fulfill his goal of creating a vacuum in his world.  Sitting down in front of his bedroom closet, Sam started to sort through his things.  Moving items from one box to another box Sam realized that he had only moved one item to the “get rid of” box.
“I just could not bring myself to the point of being able to throw things away so I stopped.”
Later that next week Sam’s, bi-monthly paycheck appeared.  Once again there was barely enough money to last until the next check.  Sam’s budget was so tight that he knew that once again for the next two weeks he would not be able to afford a dinner out or even get a six-pack of beer.

“How can I breakthrough”?  “Vacuum”.  This time the voice was not so small and soft.  It was louder and said with much more energy, than before.
“I do not understand, but maybe I will have to take it on faith,” Sam said to himself, but loud enough for his co-worker to hear him.
At home, that night Sam went to work in his bedroom.  There was something different this time.  Sam’s intentions were to throw out everything that he had not used for 6 months or more.  Working in his bedroom Sam worked to create a vacuum.  As it turned out, Sam threw out 95% of his junk and then went through his closet again and throughout more.
“I was terribly tired so after I finished my bedroom I went straight to sleep.  When I woke up the next morning, my bedroom had an entirely different feel to it.  I still did not know how this was going to be my answer.

There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus    Blaise Pascal

Two weeks have passed by since Sam created a vacuum in his bedroom, but with no visible improvement in his financial condition.  “It was on pure faith that I completely went through my closet to throw things away, and created a vacuum.  I had forgotten about the entire process within a few days.  Now with the power of hindsight I can write about what happened.”
“  I had a thought, an inspiration to develop a sales course for my company based upon some information that I had and my experience as a counselor.  I wrote this course created a Power Point presentation in just a few days.  I then set up a web conference call with my boss and his boss and pitch my seminar.  Just a couple days after that I was asked to give this seminar to a few people within the company.  What a wonderful experience.  Now I am seeking out an agent and will take this powerful seminar on the road.”
Sam continues, “The process of creating a vacuum seemed to make a difference.  I have created a revenue source that will be substantial and found something that I love to do.  I simply created a vacuum and moved forward in faith.  I honestly did not think about it anymore, I just moved forward.  Maybe creating the vacuum was responsible for my success or maybe it was moving forward in faith.  It really does not matter it only matters that I am moving forward and creating a vacuum in every room of my home.”

Change means movement.  Movement means friction.  Only in the frictionless vacuum of a nonexistent abstract world can movement or change occur without that abrasive friction of conflict.  ~Saul Alinsky

Humanity abhors, above all things, a vacuum in itself, and your class will be cut off from humanity as the surgeon cuts the cancer and alien growth from the body.  ~James Larkin
