Glenn Daniels:

David in many organization especially the Non-Profit Organization they say we are not a sales organization. Why is that and tell us your thoughts around it?

David Suson:

Because people say, well, you know, we’re not a sales organization. While this may be relative, okay, here’s the way I see it. We are constantly selling our ideas. And I don’t mean selling like, and no offense to use car salespeople or door to door, but that’s not what I mean. It’s what we’re conveying. We’re trying to get people to buy into our ideas. So I always think people use sales as a bad word. Because many times our personal consumer experience hasn’t been positive.

I look at sales as purely helping people get what they already want or need. And usually, that is to solve a problem or challenge or achieve some more significant gain.
